My Goodness! I just stumbled upon this message board while doing a web search and was absolutely flabberghasted to find so many messages relating to an experience my husband and I, along with our children shared with some of you...being marked by this group after meeting with them for almost 10 years. It happened to us over 20 years ago. At the time it was a very difficult struggle to overcome all the problems...emotional, spiritual, financial, social, etc. this group brought upon us with the marking. We chose to speak out because of our realization that the "group" was not behaving in a scriptural way and we could no longer be a part of what they were doing if we truly desired in our hearts to be right with our Lord and serve Him. It took a real toll on our children's lives too as they lost all their friends. Our daughter was especially devastated by it.
Forgiveness has been difficult for me. These so-called Christians treated us and many other people who I'm sure are dear saints, as though we were trash to be discarded. And though I readily agree that I as a person, have not anything to commend, I do have the Holy Spirit of God living within me and they trampled Him under their feet when they trashed us.
BUT...the Good News is that there is great and abundant life in Christ and He is able to sustain each of His children through all of the turmoil others heap upon us. Draw close to Him as you go through this and know that you are His precious child...nothing will ever change that!
One comment regarding this message board is that I find it strange there are so many anonymous messages. I wish for all people to know of Christ's great triumph in my life when He broke the chains that held me in slavery in that group and set me free to praise His wonderful works in my life.God Bless you all!
